Virtual Health and Recreation (Fall 2020)

What is Virtual Recreation?

Due to the limited in-person programs this fall, uOttawa has put forward their best efforts to create virtual recreation programs that students can enjoy from their own homes. Some of these activities include live sessions such as Yoga, Zumba, EMOM (every minute on the minute) workouts, and Fitness classes. Guess what??? THEY ARE FREE!
Drop-in activities available anytime are also open to students. Specific programs have been created for students depending on their preferences. For example, activities are available to workout, to feel calm, or to learn about wellness. Under these categories, students can get involved in a variety of activities such as Tai-Chi, Fitness classes, Yoga, and sessions of self-care and mental health.

How do I participate?

To view the schedule of the live sessions, press this link. Further down on the page “live virtual events” is indicated. The website will show you how to participate and when the events will be held!
To participate in the drop-in activities, this link will provide further information lower down on the page past “live virtual events”. You will then see “activities and videos available anytime” and the options to select “workout” “feel calm” or “learn about wellness” will appear. From there, each activity will provide an explanation of how to get involved.

What does this look like?

Here are a couple of examples of the activities available online:
